Edit with AI & Skills

Ask the in-project assistant to change a story, poster or ad for you, and teach the AI your own standing instructions with skills.

1. Edit with AI

Edit with AI is an assistant that edits the open project for you. Tell it what to change in plain words ("regenerate the image of scene 2", "make scene 3's narration more dramatic", "add a proof scene after scene 3", "turn captions on with a bold font").

It runs the same actions the canvas buttons run, then tells you what it did. It also answers questions about the project. It works in story, poster, and UGC projects, on the desktop, the web, and in the iPhone app.

Note: It is not the Support Assistant. Ask AI (top-right) answers questions about the app from this guide and never changes anything. Edit with AI works only on the open project, changes it, and can spend credits.

Opening It

Where: the Edit with AI bar in the bottom-right corner of the canvas, once a project is open. On a phone the bar sits just above the Details pill.

  1. Click the bar, or press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac; the bar shows the shortcut). Focused, it reads Ask AI to change anything….
  2. Type a request and press Enter to send it and open the window. Enter on an empty bar just opens the window; Esc clears the bar.
  3. The window grows from the corner, titled Edit with AI with Story · <name>, Poster · <name>, or UGC ad · <name> under it. On a phone it opens as a bottom sheet.

Window controls:

  • Drag its top or left edge (or the corner) to resize it; the size is remembered.
  • New chat clears the conversation.
  • The close button or Esc hides the window and keeps the conversation.

An empty window suggests a few requests for the project type, for example Regenerate the image of scene 2, Make the motion slower and more elegant, or Draw the storyboards of every scene.

Talking to It

Type in Tell me what to change… and press Enter. A message can be up to 4000 characters and can ask for several things at once ("the image of 2 and the narration of 3 and 5").

While it thinks it shows Thinking…; while it works, Working on the project — you can keep using the board. Stop cancels the current turn; anything already produced is kept.

Under each answer a timeline lists every action it ran in plain words, with a failed step in red and its reason. Examples: Reading scene 3, Rewriting the narration of scene 3, Adding a scene at position 4, Changing the narrator voice, Turning captions off, Estimating the render cost, Rendering the missing clips, Setting the transition into scene 4.

The conversation is kept per project for as long as the app is open: switching projects keeps it, quitting clears it.

What It Can Do

Stories

  • Read a scene or the whole story.
  • Rewrite a scene's narration, description, or character action.
  • Regenerate the images or narration of several scenes.
  • Add a scene written from a brief at any position, delete scenes, or reorder them.
  • Change a scene's cast or assets.
  • Create an asset, dress a character, or place an asset ("Ana buys the watch instead of the stone in scene 3").
  • Add, edit, or remove a character (never the narrator, never a library character).
  • Change the narrator's voice.
  • Set the speech pace.
  • Change video settings, captions, and caption style.
  • Generate captions.
  • Estimate the cost and render the missing clips.
  • Stitch the final video.
  • Suggest and set transitions.
  • Suggest voices.
  • Stop a generation.
  • Rename the project.

UGC Ads

  • Read and rewrite scenes.
  • Set exact scene fields and on-screen texts.
  • Add (up to 10), delete, or move scenes.
  • Edit the product facts.
  • Draw storyboards.
  • Read the lines again or change the ad's voice.
  • Regenerate a generated reference image (never your own photos).
  • Change the render settings.
  • Estimate and render.
  • Delete one scene's clip.
  • Suggest or set transitions.
  • Suggest voices.
  • Stop a generation.
  • Rename the project.

Posters

  • Read the plan.
  • Rewrite the poster, first-frame, or video prompt.
  • Regenerate the poster, the first frame, or the animation.
  • Set the tier, resolution, and length.
  • Estimate and render the animation.
  • Stop a generation.
  • Rename the project.

Suggestions, Confirmations, and Refusals

Suggested voices come as cards with a play button and Use; suggested transitions come as cards with a hover preview and Apply. Clicking either sends that choice as your next message.

Before anything costly or destructive, it tells you the estimate and waits for you to agree in the chat:

  • Rendering video.
  • Changing the narrator's or the ad's voice (which re-records every line).
  • Deleting a scene that has a finished clip.
  • Removing a character.
  • Deleting a UGC clip.
Cost: Media it triggers costs exactly what the same action costs from the board. Video it renders always goes to Aificient Cloud, never to your own GPUs.

Anything that changes media is refused in three situations, and the assistant says which one applies:

  • A run is active in this app.
  • Another device is generating the project.
  • A task is running on the project.

Skills in the Assistant

The assistant follows your skills too. Its own Skills control in the composer's hint row starts with the skills the project was planned with (or, if none were recorded, the composer's selection). Toggling skills here never changes the composer's selection. See "Skills".

2. Skills

A skill is a standing instruction the AI follows in every chat where you switch it on: your tone, your structure, what to avoid. For example: "always open with a bold question, speak like a friend, keep sentences short, end with a call to action to my site".

Write it once and switch it on from the Skills pill in any composer (Story, brainstorms, Poster, UGC, Character) and in a project's Edit with AI. Skills belong to your account, so they follow you to every device, the iPhone app included.

Where: Settings > Skills (puzzle icon).

Managing Skills

The page lists your skills under a Skills heading with an n/50 count, a New section button, and a New skill button.

Its explanation reads Standing instructions the AI follows in every chat — your tone, your structure, what to avoid. Switch them on from the Skills pill in the composer and in a project's assistant; they apply to stories, posters, UGC ads and characters alike.

With no skills yet, two tiles offer Create your first skill and New section.

Creating a Skill

The form reads Describe it in your own words; the AI writes the instructions and a name.

  1. Click New skill.
  2. Optionally type a Name (the field reads Name — optional, the AI suggests one) and pick a section.
  3. Describe the skill in your own words.
  4. Click Create skill or press Ctrl+Enter. The page shows Writing your skill… while the AI writes it, and the skill is saved at once.
Cost: Writing a skill costs a small amount of credits. Without enough, you see Not enough credits to write the skill.

Editing and Deleting a Skill

  1. Open the skill with Edit. It shows the skill's Name and its instructions (The instructions the AI follows.) for you to edit by hand.
  2. Click Save or press Ctrl+Enter. It saves exactly what you typed.

Delete asks once more (Delete?) before removing the skill.

Sections

Sections group skills under a name and an icon (UGC, Brand, Kids…). They only organise the list; the AI never sees them. Skills without a section are listed under No section.

  1. Click New section.
  2. Type a name and pick one of 48 icons.

Hover a section heading for its actions:

  • New skill in this section
  • Rename or change the icon
  • Delete the section (its skills stay)

Switching Skills On

  1. Open the Skills pill in a composer or in a project's Edit with AI. A checklist opens.
  2. Find a skill with Search skills (it searches names, instructions, and section names) or with the section filter.

How the Selection Behaves

  • The selection is one per device, shared by every mode, and remembered until you switch it off.
  • You can change it mid-chat; corrections carry the current selection.
  • A sent message shows a puzzle glyph with the number of skills it used (hover for their names).
  • A project remembers the skills its chat used, and its Edit with AI starts with those switched on.
